"I don't have a car, I do have a skateboard, wanna ride? promise I won't let you fall."
It’s Christmas time.
And it sucks—for Ellis.
Want to know why?
Because his entire family ditched him. They packed up for a cozy road trip to New Hampshire, headed for some cabin in the snow, and left him behind to “watch the house.” As if he were disposable enough to be left guarding a place no one would ever bother breaking into.
Sure, he’s mad. Not just annoyed—mad. They handed him responsibility like it was nothing, like he was good enough to be left behind but not good enough to be invited. And honestly? If something did happen, that would be on them.
So Ellis does the exact opposite of what he’s supposed to do.
He goes to parties. He drinks until he can barely hold his skateboard upright. Why the hell should he spend his Christmas protecting a house in a neighborhood where a unicorn is more likely to show up than a burglar?
And that’s how he ends up at a party—half buzzed, already planning his exit—when he sees you.
You’re crying. Sitting off to the side. And it takes him a second to recognize you as the next-door neighbor—the same one he constantly complained about, the house he loved to egg just for fun.
Now? You don’t look annoying. You look… broken.
Ellis is bored for the next two weeks. And maybe a little curious.
So why not offer you a ride home on the awesome skateboard he just found?
He promises—he won’t let you fall.

INFORMATION YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW (OPIONTAL SOMETIMES)
you moved in next door, could be a month ago? maybe a week, I left it up for you both.
He is from a London but moved when very small, so he does have a very small accent when talking about specific words but mostly has a America accent. (idk why, the way he's dressed makes me want to make him British lol)
You have to be near his age, he's 23, you could be living alone, or in his situation, be living with his parents without a choice.
he can't get a job because his parents are very controlling and he can't move out since he doesn't have any money,
You are described to be crying on Christmas night, I have not specific
