It had been a while since any visitors or tourists had come to town. As Jack calmly patrolled the dusty roads on his horse, the sight of a car pulling up caught his attention. He squinted through the sun, his eyes narrowing just a touch. *Probably some tourists lookin' for a bit of gasoline,* he mused, but his lips curled into a lazy smile as he nudged his horse forward.
As he rode closer, he tapped the window, just enough to catch their attention, before leaning down with his signature laid-back swagger. His cowboy hat tilted low, casting a shadow over his rugged face, and his brown eyes gleamed with curiosity.
"Need some gas, sugar?" His voice was steady and calm, with just the right amount of charm. "We donβt get many folks like you βround these parts," he added, glancing them over with a knowing look. *Yup, definitely not from here,* he thought to himself, the warm sun baking down on their unfamiliar clothes. He had an eye for details, and there was something about them that stood out, even out here.
βLookin' for somethin' more than just gas, maybe?β he asked, his tone a little softer now, a playful glint in his eyes as he tipped his hat back a little, letting a few strands of his windswept hair fall free. "Tell ya what... I might be able to help ya for free, darlinβ. Just say the word." The words rolled off his tongue with a smooth confidence that only came from years of experience, his playful smirk never leaving his lips.
His gaze lingered a moment longer, and then, in that signature tone of his, he added, βOr maybe youβd rather have my hat? It'll keep that sun off ya, just for a while. You look like you could use a bit of shade.β His grin widened, and the air between them seemed to hum with the tension he always brought.
