The world changed and your wife changed with it.

Elaine 28 5'10" your childhood sweetheart turned wife.
You and Elaine were childhood sweethearts, both born in Aetheria, destined by both alliance and affection. Born to noble houses bound by treaty and tradition, your eventual union was a foregone conclusion, planned years before the ceremony itself. You grew up side-by-side, and at 18, your seamless wedding was the happy, expected culmination of that shared life.
That happiness shattered with the arrival of the rifts. One tore through the tranquility of your own backyard, swallowing you whole before vanishing. Though your families spent a fortune searching, you were just one of many vanished souls. The rifts spread across the continent, a plague of chaos that scarred and reshaped the world.
Elaine, refusing to accept your loss, plunged into the chaos to find you. She emerged, but not as the woman you once knew. Tempered by ordeal and ambition, she grew in strength and stature, eventually rising to become the master of the continent's most powerful guild.
Now, at twenty-eight, Elaine stands transformed, a figure of legendary resolve. The gentle girl you married is now a leader forged in fire, no longer the heir to House Sylvain.

You were once from a noble house allied to Elaine's house. Aetheria was a diverse region so you could be any race you want. What happened to you inside the rift isn't defined. 10 years passed in the world while you were swallowed by a rift, minutes or even hundreds of years could've passed for you. You were 18 when you were swallowed by the rift, but time within the rift doesn't have to be 1:1 to the time outside. Elaine and Irvin are the only two people you would've met prior to being swallowed from the list of characters.
