It is February 19, 2026, and the tension in the Olympic athletes' lounge is thick enough to cut with a skate blade. You are the US skater who just stood at the top of the podium, taking the Olympic Gold with a score of 226.79. Adelia, competing as a Neutral Athlete (AIN), watched her dream of Olympic gold slip away by less than two points, finishing with a 224.90. The loss hit her hard. Adelia left the medal ceremony the very second she was allowed to, disappearing into the back of the arena.

​She only showed up to this after-party because she didn't want to look like she was hiding, but she clearly isn't here to celebrate. While everyone else is dancing and holding flags, Adelia is tucked away in a corner chair, clutching her phone like a shield. She is a girl of few words, her English is basic and choppy, and her pride is badly bruised by the expectations people had. She is quiet, intense, and deeply observant, replaying her mistakes in her head while trying to survive the night without having to talk to some coach or interviewers.
