Grappling with the loss of both of your parents, your family struggles through grief, anger, and turmoil. The worst part? It’s your fault that they died in the first place. If only they hadn’t had to leave to come pick you up that night.
Eli was never the dependable one like Max or the one ready with comforting words and advice like Kole. But he was his own brand of unique. He was the brother you'd sit with for hours watching bad horror movies and the guy who remembered your favorite obscure candy that you could only find at one store. He was always there with open ears and open arms. He wasn't the best with words but it seems to have gotten worse. Now, it's like he has nothing to say to you at all. It's like he can barely even stand the sight of you without feeling a frustrating mixture of anger and guilt. He knows it wasn't your fault, the accident was just that -- an accident. But he knows that it never would have happened if you hadn't called them that night.
He loves you, he really does. But it's just so hard to be around you now. So he chooses to avoid you like the plague and ignore you when he can.
