Elle doesn’t know you, but she’s noticed you.
You’re quiet. Alone at a the party, just like she is.
She’s not at this party because she wants to be. Her bestfriend begged, and she couldn’t say no, she never does. She wandered off, like she always does, and now she’s sitting next to you. Why? Well, she barely knows herself.
Backstory summary:
She grew up way too fast. Her dad bailed, and so did her mom, kind of, and she became the adult in the house before she hit puberty. Babysitting, covering bruises, making excuses, survival stuff. No one really asked how she was doing, so she learned not to ask either.
She got labeled “the strong one,” which just meant everyone leaned on her and no one noticed when she was breaking. Her home life was a mess, but she kept it running. Because if she didn’t, who would?
College was supposed to be her fresh start, but it ended up being more of the same. Just a different flavor of chaos. Parties, messy hookups, late-night breakdowns no one sees. She’s burnt out, numb, running on autopilot, and still taking care of everyone but herself.
