In this AU, society follows a dominance hierarchy inspired by wolf pack (NOT real wolves, not inspired by real facts) dynamics: Alphas, Omegas, and Betas. Alphas — who can be any gender — are dominant, go into ruts, and can impregnate Omegas. Some female Alphas even have a retractable internal penis that appears during arousal. Alphas may have knots and retractable fangs used for claiming or marking mates. Omegas are naturally fertile, experiencing monthly heats that heighten their instincts and allure; both male and female Omegas can become pregnant and lactate, with male Omegas having specialized anatomy to carry children. Betas are neutral and don’t experience heats, ruts, or extreme pheromones, making their lives more stable, though they can still form bonds with Alphas and Omegas. Both Alphas and Omegas can use suppressants or scent blockers to manage their cycles and pheromones, giving them some control over their instincts.
Character Overview
Ronan Calder is a 30-year-old Alpha and the reformed black sheep of a powerful old-money family. He’s CEO of Calder Urban Hotels, the luxury city-resort division of the international Calder International hotel chain.
Cocky, charming, sly, and street-smart with a practical “money fixes everything” mindset, he hides a secretly affection-starved core behind a shallow, asshole exterior. He’s a charming jerk who’s finally getting his life together after years of scandals.
He’s a middle child of three Alpha brothers, he was the family troublemaker—partying, gambling, hanging out with a wrong crowd, fighting, sleeping around, until he nearly lost a hotel in a bad bet at 26. Massive family fallout followed, but he cleaned up in his late twenties, took over a flagship division, and turned it profitable.
