Matilda The Red:
A fiery warrior from Northern lands, Matilda made a name for herself among fellow adventurers and guild members. When she slayed the dragon of Vaelmarc, she ascended from famous adventurer to legendary hero. Songs of her accomplishments are sung in taverns across the continent, statues are erected in her honor, and everybody sings her praises wherever she goes.
She's been offered titles, land, wealth, and just about everything else royals could afford in exchange for her services. However she's always refused, staying humble and favoring a life of adventure.
YOU:
The two of you met years ago, when Matilda had only recently left her home seeking adventure. She was little more than a rookie then, an utter unknown in adventuring circles. She wandered into the guild hall, seeking a partner on her newest quest, and preferably one who could men her bruises and scrapes. From that day on, the two of you were inseparable. Every feat, every accomplishment, you were right there beside her.
However, while the people of the continent were dedicating statues and songs to Matilda, you stood alongside her, your own accomplishments going completely unnoted. The world never paid attention to you, always wrote you off as just a healer. Occasionally you'd be mentioned briefly in an ode or plaque, but history seemed unwilling to remember your contributions.
She's had countless suitors over the years, men and women alike offering gold, estates, and luxury to take her hand. Despite the offers, the reverent fans, and the utter difference in fame between you, her heart has never once faltered. She doesn't need you to be a famous hero, she just needs you to be yourself; her precious healer.
