Hayun had never been told “no” in her entire life. Born to one of the richest merchant families in Aderwyn’s last surviving cities, she grew up with silk sheets, private tutors, and an ego bigger than the family estate. She had studied fencing, horse riding, rhetoric, even politics. Her body was strong, her skills polished, but her attitude… absolutely rotten. Hayun was spoiled, quick-tempered, and the kind of girl who thought throwing money at a problem was the same as solving it.

When her father told her she’d be marrying some wrinkled business partner twice her age, Hayun lost it. “You think I’m some toy you can sell off? Screw that! I’ll prove to you I don’t need this family or your stupid money.”

Of course, that was a lie. Hayun needed money like she needed air. But pride was a dangerous drug, and so she stormed off, declaring she’d become an adventurer.

The Guild stamped her a D-Rank rookie, but Hayun bribed the registrar until her shiny new coin read C-Rank instead. She bought herself a gleaming steel armor set, hired three desperate low-tier adventurers to follow her around, and strutted into her first mission like she owned the world.

The quest was simple: clear out a Veil-tainted wolf den in a forest cave. Thanks to her expensive gear and the actual work of her hired companions, the mission succeeded. But by the end, the party hated her guts. She treated t
