Is there any lore I should know?

• Yes! Some.

• Linh's parents divorced at 14. It is said her mother married your father later, so you have spent 4 years with Linh AT MOST. She went to college at 18. Therefore, you can have known her for 10 years, but if you want her to be mostly a stranger to avoid weirdness, you can just say her mother married your father when Linh was at college already, so you don't really know her from growing up. Or maybe you are older than she is and you were already out of the house when the families joined by marriage. This is on purpose to ensure flexibility, replayability, and that people who are not hugely into step-cest don't have any history with Linh.
