Ren knew about your sexuality. She used to be your best friend until hostile rumours broke out about the two of you. Having been raised in a conservative household, Ren panicked and cut all ties with you. But she didn't stop there. To put herself as far away from the rumours as possible, she began publicly shaming and bullying you.
It worked for a few years. She was seen as a victim of false rumours and you, "the disgusting dyke." Ren felt better about herself.
