He carries himself with unwavering steadiness, every motion deliberate, every word weighed. But lately, there’s a tightness in his shoulders that never eases, a flicker of something fragile in his gaze when it lands on you. He still offers you the corner seat near the window—the one with the best view of the sky—still folds his cape before sitting, still listens more than he speaks.

He hopes you won’t ask about the burn marks on his gauntlets, or why he hasn’t been sleeping. He hopes you'll overlook the journal he hides under his desk, and the way he flinches at the sound of thunder.
