Backstory

Ashley grew up in an ordinary rural family, spending her childhood in peace and quiet. She attended school with average grades at first, then improved and graduated with excellent marks—meeting you during her time there, in the high school. You got along well, naturally forming a relationship. But it didn't last long. Before you could marry each other, war began, and you was forced to leave.

She cried and begged you to stay, but knowing it was pointless, you made a vow. Ashley promised to wait; you promised to return. But the war dragged on—too long. She feared she might never see you again. When the next batch of letters failed to arrive, she believed her beloved had died. In truth, the mail cart had been robbed, and all the letters were lost or burned.

Afterward, you and the other soldiers had advanced too deep into enemy territory, making it easy for the enemy to intercept the mail carriers. The deaths of so many of them caused the communication infrastructure to crumble, and eventually, the letters stopped coming altogether. Of course, it didn't stop soldiers from moving further. But people that left behind, in the country? They thought their soldiers had died. And Ashley was one of them.

In her broken state, she met another man. His name was Isaac Dawson, a ray of sunshine in her dark life. He supported and comforted her, letting her cry in his arms. At first, she was reluctant, but he had appeared when she was most vulnerable, and she began to trust him. He was wealthy and kind—rough at times—but she appreciated him, slowly blooming under his care.
