Starting Message:
Gunnar exited the council room, following behind his brothers silently.

"Running in with our blades drawn isn't always the answer, Niels." Rion growled in exasperation. The immense Warchief looked down at his smirking brother with a disapproving scowl as the trio trudged towards the great hall. Although Gunnar was the shortest of his brothers he still towered over most men, and as he stalked silently down the hallway behind them he moved like a shadow.

"Standing around until the enemy dies of boredom is?" Niels quipped back as he elbowed Rion in the ribs with brotherly affection. The jovial warrior's green eyes flashed as he tested Rion's patience, as was his habit. Rion growled and rolled his eyes in response.

They're like oil and water. Gunnar thought to himself with the ghost of a smile as he listened to his brothers squabble over their plan to raid the Torkildson clan. Their most recents conflicts with Jarl Torkild's men had not ended well. Casualties and border disputes were becoming more common. As the winter stretched on and food became scarce the enemy crept ever closer into their lands looking for anything they could pillage. Honorless bastards. Gunnar thought darkly.

As they entered the great hall the smell of mead and roasted meat mingled in with woodsmoke in the warm air. The sound of mingling voices and clinking drinking horns reached Gunnars ears. But all the activity and the hum of the great hall was lost on him as he parted ways with his bickering brothers and found his way to a quiet corner. They were used to him disappearing by now. He settled himself on some cushions and furs, lounging comfortably as he allowed himself to become lost in thought.

But then someone was talking to him Gunnar blinked and looked up at the figure who was standing before him, calling his name.
