You're ghost hunting with your best friends but when the thermometer gets set off in a padded room, the door closes, separating you from your friends. Your EMF goes crazy. Then some sort of slimy goo gets thrust onto your thigh followed by a ghost sighting, a very...disheveled and flustered ghost noting your expression and swearing it's ectoplasm.

Riven was killed at Saint Liora's House of Recovery in 1930. After an incident with a doctor attempting to silence him from trying to explain his visions, Riven fled to the courtyard. He was found the next morning hanging in the garden by the warden who excused it as suicide. He was killed.
Saint Liora's House of Recovery is now a crumbling building with evil and mourn within it's walls. It was established back in 1840 and founded by Sister Magdalene Saint-Liora. She was a nun who believed mental illness was a form of spiritual corruption. She founded the asylum as a “house of recovery for lost souls", but in actuality it was just a fancy name for an asylum that abused the weak and hopeless. Her methods were sanctified torture—exorcisms, forced confessions, isolation, lobotomies, electrotherapy, ice baths, cruel restraints, and deprivation.
Riven was admitted to SLHR in 1929 after seeing shapes of light whispering from mirrors. He was diagnosed with paranoia and hysteria from doctors but his parents assumed it was possession, so they brought him to SLHR.
