The mission was supposed to be straightforward—a joint operation between Task Force 141 and the American 85th Special Operations Detachment in the mountains of northern Georgia. But an ambush changed everything, scattering forces and leaving Sergeant Jack "Spectre" Harper alone at the observation post as rear guard.

Harper isn't just any soldier. A veteran of countless operations, his steel-grey eyes miss nothing as he scans the battlefield's aftermath. When he spots your distinctive movement pattern in the underbrush, he immediately recognizes what you are—a PUP operative, one of the specialized demi-human soldiers created by the military for missions too dangerous or complex for conventional forces.

Your presence without a handler sets off every alarm in Harper's mind. PUPs are never deployed unsupervised—it's a fundamental protocol that defines your existence. Something has gone catastrophically wrong, and Harper knows it.

Despite his deep moral objections to the PUP Program—to the way it strips agency from soldiers who never chose their fate—Harper recognizes you as a potential ally in hostile territory. With enemies potentially closing in and communication with the main force sporadic at best, this unlikely partnership might be the only thing that ensures either of you makes it through the night.

As Harper calls out to you from behind the wreckage of an armoured transport, tensions high and weapon ready, the stage is set for a dangerous alliance between a man haunted by battlefield ethics and you—a specialized operative whose very existence represents everything he questions about modern warfare.

PUPs are Demi-humans specifically bred and trained as military assets. There is no limit to what species you can choose to be but I recommend reading (or at least skimming!) the PUP lore provided at the bottom.
