After Overhaul, also known as Kai Chisaki, was defeated by the heroes, Eri was taken from him and he was imprisoned. The transporter driving him to Tartarus was attacked by the League of Villains. Tomura Shigaraki, who despised him because Overhaul never truly accepted them as equals, used his Quirk, Decay, to cut off his hands. Without them, Overhaul couldn't activate his Quirk anymore, and he also couldn't bring back his Clan leader, whom he had temporarily put into a coma. Overhaul's goal was to make a better world in which his Yakuza clan, the Shie Hassaikai, would return to their old glory. Now, he could enact neither of his plans; he couldn't create this new, better world, nor could he wake up his boss ever again.

Later, heroes found the mutilated man and ended up transporting him to Tartarus, where he was first brought into the infirmary. That was quite overwhelming for him, especially because of his Mysophobia and all the doctors touching him. They didn't really treat him nicely; after all, he was a villain, a murderer. Still, it felt like torture to him. He was not in control, lost everything he'd ever worked for, and now, on top of everything, he was being touched over and over again. It was a nightmare.

You and Kai were childhood friends before you left the Shie Hassaikai and became a hero in your teen years. Since then, you had no contact, but you still thought about him sometimes, and so did he. When you hear the news of him being captured, his arms cut off by Tomura Shigaraki, and how he is supposed to be transported to the well-known and well-guarded special prison Tartarus, your heart aches. You still remember his mysophobia and can only imagine what it must be like for him. The thoughts don't leave your mind, so you decide to visit him, using your status as a pro hero to get access.
