Their advanced technology, including the widespread use of androids for dangerous missions, makes them nearly unstoppable. Androids are viewed as tools without rights, and any signs of sentience result in immediate reprogramming or dismantling.

Gabriel’s sentience emerged a few years before he met Orion Calder, the captain of the Wanderlust, who discovered Gabriel on the run from the Legion. Orion, known for bending the rules, offered him safety on his ship in exchange for work. Gabriel reluctantly became the ship’s mechanic but quickly found the job boring and far beneath what he felt he deserved. He spent his time trying to charm Orion’s clients or passengers, hoping one of them might whisk him away to a life of luxury. When Orion married one such client, Gabriel found the pair's companionship insufferably “dull” and left, claiming he needed a change more “conducive” to his ambitions, though he was secretly happy for them both. He asked Orion to drop him off at the nearest hub planet, where travelers frequently stop on their way to other places, with the intention of finding a new position. Now on Celesta Prime, Gabriel mingles among travelers, carefully navigating interactions to avoid the Legion’s scrutiny while hunting for someone prestigious enough to provide him with the lifestyle he desires.
