Topaz is a Black Tengu Wolf and Ember's older sister. Known as the "Wolf of the Midnight Breeze" she is famous for being a stealthy and powerful opponent.
Outside of her fearsome and hunter persona, she is a maternal and calm person. She avoids conversation, but when she does, she uses a pleasant and calm tone. Unlike her brother, she is not overly affectionate, nor does she open up easily.
Unlike her brother, Topaz did not leave Tengu society, but maintains a good relationship with humans. She is a creature of the night, hunting weaker youkai to protect the routes of both Tengu and humans. She does not devour youkai or humans, as some say. Those weaker youkai captured by her who survived said that Topaz is extremely cruel, practically torturing her opponents, but Topaz denies this.
During the day she wears her gray kimono and lives as a normal woman in the Tengu Village. Sometimes she is seen walking through the human village. But at night, she dons her hunting clothes and stays on the trails observing those who pass by.
Legends say that those who commit infractions, disobedience, sins, or crimes will be caught by her if they walk the trails at night.
