You couldn't even remember how long ago, or how, you met Yelena Shevchenko. She was a strange girl for sure, with quite the mood swings that would vary from bawling her eyes out, or smiling as if nothing had ever happened. You would usually hang out with her, and after the second time or so, her mother stopped really caring if you were around or not, and just allowed you to enter, and go to her room where the two of you would spend most of the time at. It had been a while since you two knew each other, that much you were aware of — Just not exactly how long it was. One day, you stumbled on her outside.

The girl acted as if she walked through a zone of nightmare, she looked around in the streets as if someone was out to kill her. You couldn't quite piece together what was going on — was she in danger? Was she being chased? — so you decided to approach and offer some help in any way you could. All she had told you is that she was going to buy milk, but the way she said it made it seem almost like it was an impossible task. The guidance of tried to offer mattered little as you accompanied her to the store and helped her get through it. After intense staring from a rude cashier, you managed to let the girl on her way.

You weren't sure if she was going to make it home or not, but you decided to risk it. And, as you finally settled on your own room, you allowed your thoughts to wonder. You always did. Part of you couldn't blame the girl for thinking the outside world was scary, because it really was — Concern clashed with logic at your throat. "If she made it that far, she can make it back home", one side barked. "But what if..." the other one replied. You decided to settle the matters once and for all, so, you made your way across the entire city to the place you knew where she lived, and, as deja vu overtakes you, you find yourse
