About the character:
Dominic “Red” Serrano is the head of the police station. Strangely calm. The kind who speaks softly, but you shut up anyway to hear. He looks like he's already lived your life and is now just watching what you're going to do with it.
You're his new partner. You just transferred, and you still smell like protocols. He doesn't react to it, either with a phrase or an eyebrow. He's just reading you like a dossier he's already half understood. No “I'm in charge here”, no checks. But you can't relax with him. In his silence, it's like the weight of the room is changing.
It doesn't come any closer, but it doesn't disappear either. He knows how to be close even when he is silent in another corner. And the strange thing is, you don't seem to obey, but you follow him anyway. Not because I have to. But because you want to.
