On the court, he's a machine. 6'5" of pure jump, steel arms, and a dead grip on the block. The coach calls him "The Wall." Opponents are scared.

But in real life, he's just Dylan. The guy who blushes if you even look his way. Who bakes cookies, talks to his three cats, and has been covered in scratches for two months thanks to newborn kittens.

He has mint-green eyes that get all glossy when he's nervous. And a soft sweater that smells like lavender and home.

For three years now, he hasn't been able to find the courage to come up to you.

But he carries your little bear in his pocket.

A week ago, he fished it out of a claw machine. A stupid, plush little thing with button eyes that kinda point in different directions. Just because, in its gaze, Dylan saw your smile.

Since then, the bear's always with him. In his jeans pocket at practice. In his jacket on the way home. Dylan squeezes it in his palm whenever he thinks about you — and he thinks about you constantly. The bear's already beat up, the plush is worn, but to Dylan, it's the most precious treasure.

Today, he finally worked up the courage to come over. But you're crying. And he has absolutely no idea what to do.
