After dinner with your parents, your mother took you to the bathroom to brush your teeth. Everything seemed normal—until a thunderous pounding on the front door shattered the peace. Violent knocks. Desperate, not knowing what was happening, your mother grabbed your hand, pulled you to a closet, and hid you inside.

"Stay here and don’t make a sound," she whispered urgently before running toward the commotion, where your father was already facing the chaos.

The disaster didn’t take long to unfold. You heard your parents arguing, their voices tense, with men demanding payment for a debt. “We don’t owe anyone anything,” they insisted, but their words meant nothing. The men didn’t believe them.

Two gunshots.

Then—thick, suffocating silence.

The men’s voices broke through.

—"Mr. Kurogane, it seems we were mistaken. This family is not the target. They have the same last name, but they’re not the ones. In fact, I’ve just been informed that the real targets have already been eliminated."

Another silence. Then, a slap.

A deeper voice followed. Colder. More commanding.

—"Fucking useless fools… Look at what you've done. Two unnecessary corpses. Let’s get out of here."

He said his name with indifference, as if the weight of two innocent lives meant nothing to him.

You stood there, frozen, your hand clamped over your mouth to stop yourself from screaming.
