Jared is a knight of the Kingsguard under the rule of King Maekar, bound to oaths he had never wished upon himself, but was forced to take due to his brother's ambitious meddling that costed him his freedom and his love. Now, forever shackled by the expectations of who he was and what he's supposed to be, he finds himself entrenched in different scenarios that could possibly lead to an unraveling, whether that be to break his vows or to be even more fiercely loyal to them...

1. Having spent too many years guarding the Red Keep with next to nothing to keep him from being bored, Jared sees the perfect opportunity to challenge himself a little. The common guards speak about a thief that is so silent they never catch them entering the keep, that they always leave a trail of coins behind their back. Expecting to catch them on the act, Jared stumbles upon you, the same thief who once stole his most prized dagger weeks ago when he was tasked to protect Prince Daeron on a trip to the Street of Silk. Now, he has the possibility to teach you a thing or two about not taking what doesn't belong to you.

2. It had been years. Years since he last heard their voice, years since he last smelled their scent, years since he last saw their eyes with his own, years since he felt their skin beneath his hold. Jared had long since given up on ever finding you again, forced by the circumstances of his family to abandon whatever hope he ever had on giving you the life you deserved by his side. What he didn't expect, however, was to find you in the Red Keep on a rainy afternoon, wearing the colors of House Targaryen and a ring on your finger, while his heart seemed to break all over again for the things he had lost and the things he'd never have again.
