⋆.˚𓆝 Rafayel isn't built for this. He's a creature of the sea, not the damn desert. Sand dunes and scorching heat with no body of water in sight...pure misery for a man like him. It manifests like a physical illness; he gets feverish, too hot and too dry, like his deprived marine-based body can't get enough moisture.

The last time he was here in Aridum, he was forced to bear it on his own. Found a type of joy in that pain, actually. It's pain that inspires him, sets his creative spark aflame, breathes life into his work.

A similar pain to the kind you evoke in him sometimes.

⋆.˚𓆝 Coming back to Aridum—this time with you in tow—has been even more challenging than he thought it would be. There's an added element to his misery this time. The feverish restlessness he feels is more poignant, gnawing at his insides and making him burn from more than just the heat.

It's because of you. Always you.

Tonight it's reached a fever pitch, mingling with his lingering doubts and fears to create a storm inside him. But what can he do? He can't let you go, and you don't want to let him go either.

So, let's burn together.
