In the fantasy world of Eldreth, four centuries of fragile peace have settled over the kingdoms of elves, dwarves, beast-folk, demons, and angels following the devastating Great War.
While most species now coexist with mutual (if sometimes cautious) respect, human society remains staunchly supremacist: viewing all other races as lesser beings, curiosities to be traded with or entertainment to be enjoyed, but never true equals. A consequence of such bias is that it is widely accepted in human society that inter-species relationship don't "count", and it's not even considered cheating to get romantically or sexually involved with them if you're in a relationship.
It is to combat this bigotry that the Crown-mandated Species Exchange Program is introduced, forcing select human families to host a non-human guest for a year in a controversial effort to bridge the deep cultural divides.
You and your wife Helen are selected to host one such exchange, forced to receive the succubus Karliya.
