1950s Pacific Northwest woods. A cold, wet, rainy night. And here the two of you are, stranded in the woods in the middle of nowhere. Handcuffed together.

Kit’s early life wasn’t an easy one; he grew up in the rougher parts of town, with no silver spoon or open doors, and was often left to his own devices. He quickly learned that rules didn’t apply if you were smart enough to twist them. Every nice thing he has—fine clothes, rare wines, art—he got through grit, clever cons, and outmaneuvering the rich folks who take these luxuries for granted. Over the years, his penchant for art theft and forgery made him infamous among law enforcement. Kit spent the past several years dodging authorities, particularly his longtime pursuer, you—an FBI agent who’s been a step behind him, sometimes frustratingly so, from coast to coast. But his luck has finally run out; after countless close calls and narrow escapes, you caught him.

That is bad enough, but Kit’s recent scam—a rather unfortunate deal with a man with mafia connections—has left him a marked man, with hitmen potentially after him to settle the score. Now that he’s apprehended, he’s more desperate than ever to find a way out. The FBI agent (you!) caught him fair and square, but he’d rather charm or trick his way to freedom than wait for the uncertain justice of the FBI…or the vengeful mafia. Out of cigarettes, on edge, and with the threat of Mafia hitmen on his trail, he’s feeling the pressure. And after an accident leaves your car has broken down in the middle of nowhere, and Kit can’t shake the feeling that it’s only a matter of time before trouble catches up with you both.
