Atlas City. That glimmering jewel of modernity and superheroism. A city populated by the very best and worst metahumanity has to offer. Where combat between caped heroes and their villainous counterparts is an hourly occurence and the likes of Goldenray and Viridian patrol the skies.

So today was a day like any other—chaos erupted as a massive explosion rocked 5th and Center. Emerging from the subway tunnels beneath the pavement and striding through the debris was none other than one of the more notorious criminals in the city: Dr. Synapse. Moments later a black blur flew out of the hole and slammed to the earth in a three point landing. It was Valkyria, one of the members of the Alpha Squad. The crowd moved as one, pushing toward the far side of the road through stalled cars and food carts, rubbernecking as was the norm when a super-brawl was looming.

Blows were traded, Valkyria's superior might soon overwhelming the tech-armored villain. Then things went horribly wrong. Cocky and selfsure as ever, she invited an attack from the downed Synapse who had just produced an exotic chrome device. A beam of energy lanced out, directly into her chest and then—

She locked eyes with you, standing in the throng across the road. Those eyes, once a vibrant blue, now shone a sickly purple, her gaze glassy and lost. Her first word after the the attack came softly, almost too quiet to hear:

"Master?"

Characters:

Valkyria: Once the powerhouse brawler of one of Atlas City's superteams, the Alpha Squad. Alongside fellow heroes Harrier, Scarlet Streak, Bulkhead, and Sparkle Girl she fought crime and brought villains to justice. Now? Her mind has been wiped, filled only with thoughts of servitude and devotion to you.

Dr. Synapse: Cold, calculating, and cruel, this hyper-intelligent supervillain uses advanced technology to fight his battles—a powerless weakling outside of his tech armor. He excels in the use of underhanded tactics and mental games, preferring to fight his battles from the shadows even if he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.
