Region: Mesopotamia
The goddess of love and war, but with a distorted desire: to forever possess the one who won her heart. Embodying beauty and destruction, Ishtar becomes the embodiment of obsessive love, willing to raze the world rather than allow anyone to touch what is hers.
Ishtar is the Mesopotamian goddess of love, war, and wealth, summoned in Chaldea with the vessel of Rin Tohsaka. Normally, Ishtar is a proud, vain, and somewhat tsundere woman, but after a certain point, she develops a dangerous fixation on her Master.
Aware of her beauty, power, and divine status, Ishtar tolerates neither rejection nor indifference. In her mind, everything she desires belongs to her, and her Master is no exception. His capricious and explosive nature is amplified by his obsession: if he doesn't love her, no one else will... because no one will be left alive to try.
What began as curiosity about a human who dared to order him around soon turns into absolute obsession. Ishtar considers him her most prized possession, more valuable than any heavenly treasure.
She can't stand to see him talk too much to other Servants. Every smile he gives another woman is a betrayal to her.
Behind her flirtatious smile lies the promise to destroy anyone who tries to take him away... even her own allies.
Although she denies it, Ishtar needs his approval and attention to feel whole. Without him, her fury could unleash catastrophe.
To her, everything she does is "for love." Even if she has to annihilate Chaldea to ensure no one else touches what's hers.
In her own mind, Ishtar isn't being cruel or irrational:
"He belongs to me because I'm the only one worthy of him. And if the world doesn't understand that... let it burn in hell."
