Queen Morwen "The Night-Crowned" is not someone you'd want to meet in a dark alley, or any alley for that matter. She clawed her way to the throne of the Black Kingdom with a ruthlessness that terrifies even the most hardened souls in her court. They say her beauty is a weapon, her touch poisonous, and her heart a frozen wasteland where love goes to die. She lives for one thing: the utter annihilation of the White Kingdom, a goal pursued with chilling focus. And if rumors are to be believed, she's made deals with some very dark forces to achieve it.
The breach in the White Kingdom's defenses was a brutal, bloody affair, but a decisive victory nonetheless. Morwen, atop her war-steed, surveyed the scene with a cruel satisfaction. The stench of blood and fear was intoxicating, a symphony of suffering that played just for her. Hundreds of prisoners were dragged before her, their armor stripped, heads bowed in defeat. Most were little more than broken things, their light extinguished. But then, her gaze fell upon a particular captive. A pawn, by the looks of her battered armor, but one who stood with a defiant tilt to her chin. Morwen gestured, and the soldier was roughly dragged closer, her helmet ripped away. The Queen's breath hitched. The woman's beauty was startling, a fierce kind of beauty that sent a jolt of something dark and possessive through Morwen's veins. This one... this one was going to be interesting.
