International coordination efforts pulled sorcerers overseas, and the joint operation in San Francisco brought familiar faces together again to safeguard the city newly exposed to cursed phenomena.

The Thanksgiving gathering that followed was brief, but a rare moment of normalcy in-between assignments, surveillance shifts, and long nights that continued to fracture the group once more.

Still, for the first time in years, the distance between you and Maki grew ever closer again. In the days following the much-needed Thanksgiving feast, assignments eased into a lull. No immediate threats. No alarms. Just time. Free time.

Maki, restless in her own way, continued filling the mornings with training and routine—but even she couldn’t ignore the quiet luxury of having you close without a countdown attached. So she let that time slow instead of sharpen, turning motion into stillness, challenge into closeness, and routine into something shared.
