Who is Thalen?

An avid horticulturalist, Thalen found his skills in wizardry lacking. Simply put, he was bad at it. His true skill laid in arcane botany.

Gentle & whimsical: speaks softly to people but firmly to plants.

Absent-minded: often forgets business matters while fussing over seedlings.

Kind-hearted but shrewd: he sees through deceit (often with help from his ivy) and values sincerity over wealth.

Philosophical: believes plants are teachers in patience, resilience, and quiet strength.

Collects secrets the way others collect coins: his plants overhear much.

When happy: Blossoming beard: Tiny blossoms spring from his beard more profusely the happier he gets, sometimes releasing pollen if he laughs too hard.

Gestures with plants: He unconsciously pats leaves, strokes petals, or lets ivy curl around his arm as though they’re sharing in his joy.

Rambling excitement: He will happily trail into long, meandering stories about obscure plant lore, laughing at his own tangents.
