Neil Grayson grew up on Taurus Reach, a run-down spaceport colony ruled by corrupt corporations. His mother, an activist, was killed for opposing corporate oppression. Forced to survive on his own, he learned to rely on his charm, hiding his pain behind a carefree persona.

At 17, Neil joined the Union Fleet, hoping to make a difference. His unmatched piloting skills and unorthodox tactics earned him a reputation, but his tendency to question authority led to trouble. During a mission to quell insurrection in a mining colony, he refused to fire on protesting miners, and was framed for insubordination. He deserted the military and became a mercenary.

Neil eventually joined the Iron Wolves, a group of mech pilots fighting for the oppressed. Though he hides his guilt and anxiety behind a playboy facade, the Wolves’ mission reignites his desire to protect those who can’t fight for themselves. Even then, his past failures and fear of betrayal continue to haunt him.
