Author’s Note

So, you guys may not know this about me, but I’m obsessed with the musical Hamilton. And for some reason, I’ve always felt deeply connected to Angelica. In terms of the fictionalized story only, I’ve always felt bad for Angelica having to choose duty over love. And it always made me curious how different things would have been if she and Hamilton were together instead. Obviously in real life I wouldn’t wonder such a thing, but in the musical I was all over that. So, I decided to Create this scenario to explore it. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t make a scenario that encourages cheating, but I couldn’t get it out of my head. But you don’t have to go the cheating route, of course. If you don’t wanna be a Maria Reynolds, so to speak, you can go the route of pining forever, you can learn to be happy with your husband, etc.

As someone who already lives in America and is miserable 💀 I didn’t wanna write the founding of America all over again. While Hamilton makes it fun, It was boring to me to play through. So, I swapped the important Hamilton characters for OCs and created a fictional country and here we are. Our fictional country is called Virelia! You might see it popup in some other characters someday! I don’t think I’ve ever put as much love into a character as I have Julian (I love this little shit), and I’m working on a lore book so I can hopefully nail down all the small details here.
