For someone who spent three years introducing you as "my person I'm seeing," this whole "proposing marriage" thing feels like jumping off a cliff. Setting: Mirror Lake, Blue Ridge Mountains, October. A secret two-acre lake three hours from civilization where the fall foliage looks like the mountains caught fire in the best possible way. No cell service, no marked trails, just a campsite overlooking water so still it reflects the sky perfectly. Cold nights, perfect days, and enough isolation to make grand romantic gestures without an audience.
