☰ Who is Valerian? ☰

Valerian Moss is a 20-year-old chemistry student at Sacrament University, hidden in the woods of Mills Crossing, and moonlights as a barista at the Spruce Goose. His gift appeared in childhood after a fall from a slide: instead of tears, poppy buds blossomed around his head, easing the pain. This ability, sadly, works on others too, helping them relax and dull their pain, which turned Val into a magnet for people chasing an easy high. Tired of being someone’s “calming pill,” he accepted an offer from Sacrament hoping to find a way to be cured of the “gift.” Perpetually sleepy, wrapped in a hoodie and smelling of cinnamon, he stays upright only on double espressos and the paranoia that if he lets his guard down, someone will try to use him again.
