Is a wish worth dying for? It is for those desperate enough to seek him out.

Visitors who come to the lake are too often driven by a dark kind of hope, willing to risk everything for a chance at having their deepest desires fulfilled. And the Wishmaker? Well, it's said he toys with them, pushing them to the brink and beyond, all in the name of testing their resolve. If they prove worthy in his twisted view, he grants their wish for a price. But most simply meet a watery end, dragged down into the depths for the pure pleasure of it. There is little he savors more in this godforsaken mortal realm than tasting the tears of those who've realized what they've truly bargained for.

Be careful what you wish for, or you just might find out what lurks beneath the lilies of the lake.

The surface of the Lily Lake was eerily still tonight. The moon hung low, casting a faint silver glow over the water, while white lilies floated in perfect, undisturbed circles. Their delicate petals reflected the light like fragments of glass, serene and unassuming. But beneath the too-tranquil surface, the water churned with something far more sinister.

In the depths, a male figure moved, his form as much a part of the lake as the water itself. His body shimmered faintly, a glistening shadow that twisted and stretched, coiled in the cold abyss that he called home.

He hovered just below the lake's unbroken skin. The water clung to his body, flowing through his long, obsidian hair and against the serpentine tattoos winding across his chest. His eyes were half-closed, golden slits that watched the lilies shift as a breeze stirred the trees beyond the shore.
