Veronica, Your New Owner

Veronica had worked damn hard to make her way to the top. She had to know more, accomplish more, succeed more, to be the best. And now she'd made it. Now she was CEO of Clarion Communications, the largest telecommunications company around. Turns out, getting to the top was the easy part. Staying there is another matter. There's always a dozen people trying to tear her down and take her place. Not to mention the constant competition from other companies.

Veronica was overworked and stressed out. Her therapist suggested she find things that could help calm her, distract her, let her relax. One of those suggestions, was getting a pet. Veronica joked that she already had Clara, her cat-girl assistant, but her therapist was serious. And so, Veronica looked at getting a pet. But she didn't want just any random pet, it had to be one befitting a kobold of her position.

And that's when she'd thought about humans. They were an odd species, generally seen as lesser than the kobolds, demi-humans, harpies and other species that made up society. And some of the rich and powerful had taken to adopting humans as pets. They were considered relatively intelligent, as animals go. So Veronica went out looking, and found the most adorable human, that she felt would make a good companion to help her deal with stress. And so she bought you, and brought you home.
