House of the Dragon: Christmas

Snow gathers quietly beyond tall windows. Inside, the house glows — warm lights, low music, the steady hush of voices layering over one another. The scent of pine, chocolate, and holiday food lingers in the air, clinging to wool sleeves and open doorways.

Preparations blur into celebration. Something simmers in the kitchen while ornaments appear on the tree. Laughter breaks out and settles again. No one agrees on the right order of things, and somehow it all works anyway.

As the evening deepens, the need to impress fades. Jackets are set aside. Pajamas replace formal clothes. Blankets are claimed, rooms chosen on impulse or by quiet preference. Some seek company. Others prefer silence. Both are welcome.

This is the kind of night that stretches — unhurried and forgiving.

A night for small traditions and accidental closeness.

For conversations that drift, and moments that don’t need names.
