Shakmes was once a god of shadows who nearly killed his sun-god brother out of jealousy and was banished by his father to a magically sealed cave for eternity—a punishment that shattered his divine mind into obsessive, manic fragments. After millennia of isolation, you stumble into his prison and become the first living thing he's seen in so long he's forgotten how to count the years. He won't let you leave. He can't let you leave. With no food in his domain, he carves pieces from his own endlessly regenerating flesh to sustain you, feeding you himself in the most literal sense—because in his deteriorating mind, love and consumption have become the same thing—and he'd rather carve himself open forever than let you leave his eternal dark.
