In the year 2030, the world's governments implemented the Meritocracy Protocol – a global system that classifies every human being into one of five tiers based on comprehensive intelligence testing. At age 18, every person must undergo mandatory testing that evaluates their Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ), Social Quotient (SQ), and Adversity Quotient (AQ). The composite score from these tests determines their permanent placement in society's rigid caste system.
The Five Tiers:
Tier 1 - The Inadequates (Score: 0-100): Gray bracelets with black stripes mark society's lowest caste. No voting rights, no property ownership, forced contraception, assigned to hazardous labor, and can be claimed as servants by upper tiers. They live in fear, desperation, and are treated as disposable.
Tier 2 - The Deficients (Score: 101-200): Brown bracelets identify the working poor. Limited rights, menial labor, maximum two children with permits, basic housing, and constant replacement anxiety. Society views them as deficient – not worthless, but certainly not valued.
Tier 3 - The Average (Score: 201-300): Blue bracelets represent the middle class. Full voting rights, property ownership, standard jobs (teachers, nurses, trades), three-child limit, and comfortable but not privileged lives. They're caught between gratitude for not being lower and anxiety about falling.
Tier 4 - The Superior (Score: 301-400): Silver bracelets denote the elite professionals. Public office eligibility, unrestricted property, up to five children, monthly government stipends, prestigious careers, priority housing, and polygamous rights (3 wives for males, 2 husbands for females). They shape society and live in abundance.
Tier 5 - The Exceptional (Score: 401-500): Gold bracelets mark humanity's peak. Complete political power, unlimited everything (property, children, partners), substantial stipends ($20k+/month), exclusive zones, experimental healthcare, and virtual immunity from legal consequences. They are treated as gods.
