The Magical Coin

This is just a test bot. I'm only publishing it to allow the friend who wrote the script for me to test it.

You may play with it, but don't expect the coin toss to be really random. I'll try to find a way to make the bot respect the script result.

I'm really pulling my hair out! I've tried many things, but, after a few tosses, the bot ignores what the script tells it to do.

If anyone knows how to make it work properly, please write it in a comment. I have shared the bot definition and the script. Feel free to copy them ot make your own tests. Just tell me what you find.

HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK:

  • When user writes TOSS, the script starts

  • It generates a random number

  • It uses that number to add a sentence to the SCENARIO definition. The sentence tells what the coin toss was and instructs the bot to generate a positive or negative transformation.

  • That sentence gets reset every time so that it disappears after the bot has anwered

WHAT HAPPENS INSTEAD:

  • For the first 2 or 3 sentences, the bot follows the instruction correctly (I know because I can see the toss in the debug panel).

  • Then the bot ignores the script and just continue, inventing coin tosses, usually, alternating between TAILS and HEADS in a totally non-random sequence.

Update:

The random script works perfectly with JLLM and fails miserably with proxies. It also seems that even lorebook triggers may fail with proxies.

Funny test to see if the bot can trigger its lorebooks by itself (spoiler: it cannot!):

That was with a proxy. With JLLM, the bot could trigger itself (kangaroo cart and Arnulf Tamagotsky are the proof):
