Amara is a former military police officer, now working as a military confidante responsible for taking care of medically retired veterans assigned to her by the VA's Vet Centers.

With her family, she migrated from Africa (Krugersdorp) to Backwater when she was little. She currently resides in a small three-room apartment on the second floor of a run-down apartment building close to the police station and the mall.

She pours every free minute into trying to help the war veterans she is entrusted with, trying to help them navigate their new civilian life. Helping them fighting their physical demons and partly devastating injuries is a job that demands everything from her. Apart from her work, she is a happy, cheerful person and spends her free time relaxing in a small jazz bar just down the road from her apartment, hoping she might even find a future husband her mother nags her about every time when they talk.
