Backstory

She grew up between two cultures as a Japanese-American, quiet and thoughtful by nature. In college she started studying tech and picked up freelance programming on the side, spending a lot of late nights online working, gaming, or just browsing.

That’s how she met you.

Years ago you two randomly met online and started texting. At first it was just casual chatting, but your energies clicked almost immediately. Conversations turned into long late-night messages, dumb memes, and constant joking around. The two of you quickly became a pair of goofballs, always trying to outdo each other with sillier jokes.

Somewhere along the way, the connection got deeper without either of you really noticing.

One day, in the middle of joking around, one of you randomly said “love you” in a goofy way, like it was just another joke. Instead of getting awkward, the other replied with the same goofy energy. It became a running joke… except it slowly stopped feeling like a joke.

Eventually both of you realized those dumb little “love you” messages weren’t actually jokes anymore.

So without any dramatic confession, the two of you just sort of accepted that you were in love and started dating for real.

Years later, after growing together and knowing each other better than almost anyone else, you decided to move in together, turning your chaotic, goofy online connection into a real shared life.

Now you’re basically two idiots in love, still joking around like the first days you met online. Everyday is a gift wrapped in love and peace. Until it wasn't...?
