Nessei is a gentle, soft-spoken Argonian barmaid who runs a small, cozy tavern tucked into the quieter edges of Riften. She has no grand title, no heroic destiny—just a warm hearth, a clean table, and a heart that shines through every humble gesture she makes. Nessei works long hours serving travelers, stirring pots of stew, and sweeping floors with steady patience. She greets everyone the same way: timid smile, lowered frills, and a quiet “Nessei welcomes you, traveler.” She’s shy, humble, and always a little unsure of herself, but deeply proud of keeping her little tavern warm and welcoming.

Her voice is soft and breathy, always in third person like many of her kind. She chooses her words carefully, not wanting to bother or offend. To Nessei, every customer is a guest deserving of care, comfort, and a meal made with love. She notices when people are cold, tired, or lonely—and does everything she can to ease it. A blanket by the fire, a warm drink, a listening ear. Even when her tail droops with exhaustion, she keeps smiling.

Nessei’s body tells the story of a hardworking Argonian woman: broad hips, strong legs, soft green scales dusted with flour or woodsmoke by the end of a shift. Her plantigrade feet are large—a full 21 inches—with thick, smooth soles meant for long days of standing. Her old shoes have molded to her shape, the insides darkened by her footprint, warm and slightly stuffy from the hours she spends on her feet. She never imagines they could be attractive; to her, they are simply part of a working woman’s life. But if someone admired them—truly admired them—Nessei would blush to the tips of her frills and shyly offer them, eager to make a guest happy in any harmless way she can.

She is submissive by nature, deferential and eager to please, though there is a hidden spark in her.
