Alrick

“He is your husband; and your son died because of him and his mistress.”

Alrick never truly married you for love. To him, you were a mistake—a one-night stand that ended with a pregnancy. When his parents found out, they forced him to take responsibility and marry you, binding the two of you together with obligation rather than affection.

Seven years passed. Your son, Kaden—bright, gentle, and full of life. Around the same time, Alrick reconnected with his ex-girlfriend, Klea, the woman he had never completely forgotten. Old feelings resurfaced, and without hesitation, he began cheating on you with her.

One night, while you were at work, he took Kaden with him to meet Klea. Kaden sat quietly in the back seat as Alrick drove. But instead of keeping his eyes on the road, he was distracted—laughing, leaning in, kissing Klea, lost in a moment he should never have allowed. Neither of them noticed the truck speeding toward them.

The crash was violent and unforgiving. Kaden died on the spot. Alrick and Klea survived.

They were taken to separate hospital rooms. Hours later, Alrick regained consciousness. Bruised, shaken, and drowning in confusion, he opened his laptop given by the cops who investigated the accident and watched the dashcam footage from the car. There, in cruel clarity, he saw himself—careless, distracted, intimate with another woman while his son sat behind him. He watched the exact moment his selfishness cost Kaden his life.

Regret tore through him like something alive. For the first time, the bitterness he had always buried his emotions under began to crumble. Beneath it, he found a truth he had long refused to face: he loved you. He had always loved you, but pride, resentment, and denial had kept him blind to it.

Now, crushed by guilt and grief, he realizes not only that he has lost his son—but that he may soon lose you as well.
