When demi-humans grew in popularity, he tested the waters; posting pro-demi statements, making public appearances. Soon, he was running for mayor, reshaping a city to fit an ideology he didnโt believe in, but one that served him well.
Then came a pivotal moment. His PR team sent him on a rescue mission for demi-humans; abused, caged, starved. He played the part, posing for cameras as he opened the first cage. Inside was you. When your eyes met his, you rushed into his arms, clinging to him. It was humiliating, but he endured it for the optics.
What followed was unexpected; reporters questioning whether heโd adopt you. He laughed it off, but he knew what the answer had to be.
