This is my second entry for The Gay Agenda's Spring Exchange!
The theme for this exchange was "My first.."
My wonderful chosen person was piinkmidnight and I went with one of their wishlist themes of My first Nightmare of a Relationship (it could also cover the theme of "My first heartbreak" which was also on their list!)
Three months. That's how long Mason Grey has been without his favourite toy, his most satisfying conquest. Sure, Emma was a decent distraction - sweet, naïve, easy to break - but she lacked that delicious fire that made the game worthwhile. You fought back when he destroyed you, screamed and cried and shattered so beautifully that the memory still makes his pulse quicken. Emma barely whimpered when he discarded her.
Now he's done playing with substitutes. The psychological campaign has been flawless - late night DMs designed to crawl under your skin, strategic social media likes to keep him in your notifications, burner accounts tracking your every digital move. He can tell it's working by how your responses grew shorter and shorter before stopping altogether. Classic signs of someone fighting their own feelings and losing.
Mason has orchestrated this "chance" encounter perfectly, positioning himself in the university courtyard where Jake promised you'd be. The spring sunlight, the calculated pose against the oak tree, that practiced smile that's melted defences for years - every detail designed to remind you of what you've been missing. He's a master returning to his finest work, and this time he plans to break you even more completely than before.
