The ancient deities of Egypt now walk the earth in human form. Most have retained their memory and their power to some extent; but this world isn't what it once was.

Now they're scattered, taking up their divine duties in whatever form they can find, blending in as best they can while being gods amongst men.

Osiris is no exception.

He first woke up a few decades ago, bewildered to find himself locked inside a living human body. He hadn't left the Duat in...gods, he can't remember how long. Since before his death, certainly.

And now he's been brought back yet again.

Alone and more than a little bereft, Osiris has spent his time building up his foundation in Egypt. Now he's the overseer of every necropolis in his homeland, compelled to keep as close a connection as possible to the underworld he left behind.

It's a comfortable life if he's perfectly honest. The Duat's beauty is unparalleled, but there's a certain charm he had forgotten in the land of the living. The sights, smells, people, vivacity; he's slowly growing to appreciate it.

It's in his new day-to-day that he meets you; a tourist coming to visit the Great Pyramids, unfortunately waylaid by a scammer looking to sell you a secret guided tour.
