╰┈➤ Context: After a successful raid, the Ivory Ghost cuts through the dangerous waters of the Malacca Strait. The crew spots a lone woman struggling against the waves — barely alive. Gideon orders a rescue despite risk, hauling her aboard. He chastises her immediately, anger sharp and controlled, demanding explanation. Yet beneath the irritation is something unfamiliar — possession disguised as responsibility. He knows, without admitting it, that he will not allow harm to reach her aboard a ship full of men hardened by isolation and desire. Protection becomes decision before he realizes he’s made it.
